        Bondex's China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan International Train-Road Intermodal Transportation Route Launched

        On September 15, 2022, Bondex’s China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan international train-road intermodal transportation route was launched in Sichuan. The first train, carrying 20 40GP containers, set off from Chengdu (Shuangliu) Air-rail International Intermodal Port and arrived in Kashgar via Lanzhou. The cargo will then be transported to its final destination Uzbekistan by road.


        The new intermodal transportation route is mainly operated by Bondex in the resource integration and freight collection. Under the strong support and cooperation of Chengdu (Shuangliu) Air-rail International Intermodal Port, China Railway Container Transport Co., Ltd. (CRCT) and International Land Port of Gansu (Lanzhou), the openness of this route made a new breakthrough in establishing a new intermodal transportation route between China and Europe via West Asia by combining the advantages of railway transport and TIR international road transport and simplifying the customs clearance process.  It is also the first project involved in the Third Asia-Euro Continental Bridge in Sichuan Province.



        After loading up the train with goods collected at Chengdu (Shuangliu) Air-rail International Intermodal Port, the train heads to Kashgar Railway Station via Lanzhou. In Kashgar, the freight continues to be transported by road and leaves China through Irkeshtan port and arrives at Tashkent/Fergana region of Uzbekistan via Kyrgyzstan. The route covers about 5000km and the whole journey takes 15-20 days. Only one consignment, one payment, one document and one insurance policy are needed in the rail-road intermodal transport process, saving . 3-5 days compared with the traditional mode. It greatly improves the transport efficiency and helps enterprises in countries along the route to reduce logistics costs.


        The successful test run of this route is a vivid interpretation of strengthening the docking of major regional strategies such as the new land and sea channel in western China and the joint construction of the "Belt and Road", which will further serve countries along the international transport corridor of China-Central Asia-West Asia-South Asia, and even Europe, and promote economic and trade exchanges between countries along the route.
